Welcome!

Your newsletter from Foresight in the Present, a Foresight Futures publication.

Welcome!

Welcome to my first newsletter from Foresight in the Present, my new content site. Thank you for signing up and a special thanks for those of you who are now paid subscribers. As I mentioned in my About page, you are helping me keep Foresight Futures viable as an independent publisher.

This will be a short newsletter as I haven't done much writing while setting up the site over the past few weeks. But here's one new article for you:

💡
Assumptions Again: a post about why we need to recognise and challenge our assumptions about futures.

As you will read in the article, I asked a question about this on Twitter and LinkedIn and I will set up an online conversation about it. This focus on assumptions is at the core of what I'm doing at the moment, with my conversations about futures framework, but more about this in coming weeks.

And one link from the Institute for the Future I found this week that I thought was useful: Map of the Decade 2015-2025.

Foresight Information Session: 8 February 2022

These sessions are free events scheduled throughout the year to give people who are new to foresight or who want to know more about what foresight is and how to use it in practice. They are unstructured and open so we can explore your questions and thoughts during the session. Come ready to ask questions!

Next Session: Foresight Information Session 2
Tuesday, 22 February 2022
8am-10am AEDST

A free, one-hour session for people who are new to foresight or just curious about what foresight is and how it’s used. Bring your questions to the session!
Register here.

Thank you again for your support and enjoy exploring the Foresight in the Present site. Let me know any foresight topics you would like to me write about too - I may not be able to write anything but I'll try!

Cheers
Maree
